Senior Recreational Gathering in Celebration of Lunar New Year 2023

Today Way In Network (WIN) and GCAA Health had co organised the “Senior Recreational Gathering in Celebration of Lunar New Year 2023”, the event had provided hospitality complementarily to approximately 100 seniors over age 70.

 

WIN and GCAA Health shared the same vision and mission of servicing the Chinese community, today’s event with reception of 100 aged 70 or over seniors was in the purpose of sharing the happiness and tradition of lunar new year, as well as introducing the extensive services of day care and activities by GCAA Health.

 

 

The joyous atmosphere was built up at the commencement by the lion dance of Tommy Tong’s Dak Shing Lion Dance Team; with the lion dotting ceremony officiated by the representatives of WIN and GCAA Health.

  

Master of Ceremony was Ms Ming Mok.

 

Ms Annie Tang JP, President of Way In Network welcomed all guests and stated, “Way In Network has just passed our 30thAnniversary, as a tradition of WIN, we have been hosting senior luncheon annually. Unfortunately because of Covid, this annual event had pended for 3 years. With the fading of Covid impact and approaching our lunar new year, we promptly decided to host this event, hoping that it will bring all happiness and health to our seniors and Chinese community with the New Year of Golden Rabbit. We are very grateful to GCAA Health for the offer of their centre as our event venue and co-hosting the event.”

Ms jenny Hong from GCAA Health had also addressed and welcomed the attendees. Mr Jacky Hong introduced all the services provided by GCAA Health.

 

Ms Annie Tang JP, President of WIN and The Hon. Dr Helen Sham-Ho OAM, Honourable President of WIN, had presented appreciation certificates to the GCAA Health volunteer workers as well as the GCAA Health Art Group’s performers.

The day’s performances started with singings from WIN members including “Song of Way In Network” and Chinese golden song “The Moon Represents My Heart”, with music played by WIN member Ms Linda Lam’s accordion. WIN sisters had also handed out red pockets to each attended senior.

 

GCAA Health had hosted a birthday celebration to those seniors born in January; followed by several entertaining performances by GCAA Health Art Group.

 

Mrs Florence Chau JP, Past President of WIN had the vote of thanks, she had especially thanked Ettason Pty Ltd and Heng Fai Trading Co Pty Ltd for the generous donation of gift packs to every senior attendee. Mrs Chau and Ms Linda Tang JP, Past President of WIN with the assistance of the WIN committees had conducted the lucky draw, as well as given out healthy luncheon boxes to the seniors. The event ended with a singing by all on another golden Chinese song “Friends”, with lots of laughter and contentment from the seniors attended the event.

 

Way In members also had the celebration for January birthday sisters after the event.
